Senior Barista / Café Manager

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Senior Barista / Café Manager to lead our team at a busy French café in Waterloo. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives both behind the coffee machine and on the floor, delivering exceptional service while managing daily operations.

About the Role
You will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of café operations while maintaining a premium coffee standard and a warm, welcoming customer experience. This is a leadership position requiring initiative, organisation, and a genuine love for hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare and serve high-quality coffee with consistency and precision
Lead, train, and motivate a small team to deliver excellent service
Manage daily café operations, including opening/closing procedures, train new staff, daily cashup and reconciliation duties
Maintain strong customer relationships and handle feedback professionally
Monitor stock levels, place orders, and liaise with suppliers
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and hygiene standards
Drive a positive team culture and efficient workflow

About You

Minimum 2 years’ experience in hospitality management

Strong barista skills with a focus on quality and consistency

Proven team leadership and staff training experience
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Highly organised, reliable, and proactive
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask
Passion for coffee, food, and French café culture
