Status update
(Updated March 2nd, 2021)
Hi there,
As our industry recovers, we've received a higher than usual demand for staff from the industry. To increase the chances of your shifts being covered by a skilled barista from our platform, we've decided that we will follow the market trends and introduce the following changes in the near future:
Increasing the hourly rate for the baristas you book through our platform. We know that making sure every shift you book is covered by a barista is key to your success. These increased hourly rates will be instrumental in attracting more baristas to the shifts you book with us. These increased hourly rates will take effect for any shifts booked on or after March 3rd, 2021, and will be reflected on the booking form.
Removing the subscription fee. Instead, a refundable 'booking fee' will be charged. This will only be charged if the shift is confirmed by a barista. The total amount you'll pay will be shown clearly on the page before you confirm the booking. This means you won't need to commit to a monthly subscription, and there will be no cost in the event of a shift being unfilled.
On-boarding more baristas in every city. We'll be focusing heavily on bringing on more skilled and experienced baristas to our teams in every city in Australia.
We believe that the above focus on more available workers on our platform, and the increased hourly rate, will mean we better meet the changing staffing demands of your business. We thank you for your continued support, and look forward to working with you as our industry continues to navigate the changes brought about by these unprecedented times. We'll be making some more announcements about some great new features in the coming weeks.
To answer a couple of questions:
Can I still book a barista? Yes, you can still book a barista. We're working hard so there's more baristas accepting more shifts, which is better for everyone.
What are the new hourly rates? $29 per hour on weekdays / $40 per hour on weekends and public holidays.
Will I pay the booking fee if my shift isn't filled? No. In the event that your shift isn't filled by a barista, the booking fee will be refunded in full. No play - no pay.
